After a long travel time between breweries, we have reached Michigan’s Northernmost brewery, Brickside Brewery in Copper Harbor, Michigan. Opening in 2012, Brickside Brewing has been serving beer to thirsty residents and tourists for the last dozen years.

The first thing that you will notice when you walk in the door at Brickside Brewery is all the stickers. They have one of the most impressive sticker collections I have ever seen at a brewery. Brickside has them on the support beams, the walls, the ceiling, pretty much anywhere you can find spaces for stickers, the spot is occupied by a sticker. On your visit, see if you can find the Bearded Lamb sticker on their property. If you find it, you will know you are sitting in the exact same spot that I did on my visit to the brewery.

Something else to consider when planning a visit to the brewery, their hours of operation tend to be very seasonal. Usually open 7 days a week during tourist season, and somewhat minimal hours of operation during off season, so plan your trip accordingly.

When it comes to seating in the brewery, there are just a few tables scattered around the bar area. There is also a smaller bar area that seats approximately 6 to 8 people at most. I did not see any outside seating options, but we also got here a little bit before they closed for the night, so I am not sure if they have them available during the day or not.

There is no kitchen here at Brickside Brewery, but their website does mention that they have a food truck from noon to 7 called Roaming Palate, which specializes in items like pizza, pitas, tacos, nachos and hot dogs. We got there later in the day, so the food truck had likely left for the day upon our arrival.

Some entertainment options at the brewery include a couple of dart boards and various board games for your amusement. Occasionally the brewery does host live musical acts, check their website or their socials to see if anyone is performing live during your visit.

Brickside Brewing offers 8 beers on tap at all times, with 4 of their beers being on almost all the time, and another 4 that rotate on and off the list based upon the season. The beers that we tried on our trip to the brewery were their Haaaaaazzzzzzy IPA Quince Junior- Hazy IPA, Quincy Brown- Brown Ale, and Jackpine Savage- Bitter ESB. The best beer on this flight though was their Park Bench which was a Porter that drank slightly thin and light-bodied with a coffee presence but finished very balanced and smooth. This one clocks in at 6.4%, so be careful when drinking it, this beer can creep up on you. This is one of the mainstay beers on their rotation.

On your travels to the Upper Peninsula, visit Brickside Brewery, the Northernmost brewery in all of Michigan in beautiful Copper Harbor. From here on our brewery travels in Michigan we can only go South to visit breweries. Cheers!
