Once in a while on my beer travels, I stop in and revisit a place that I went to previously but hadn’t been to in a while. It had been quite a few years since I had visited Eternity Brewing Company in Howell, Michigan. If I had to guess it had probably been a good 6 years since I had stepped foot in the brewery, not quite an eternity but close enough. I recently took a trip back to the brewery a few weeks ago and am I ever glad that I did and I promise it won’t take me 6 more years to make it back.
Eternity Brewing Company recently celebrated a decade of serving beers to the Michigan craft beer community. They opened in late 2014 and have stood the test of time as they continue to brew quality beers out of their Livingston County taproom.
Upon entering Eternity Brewing the first thing that you will notice is the long bar area that can easily seat approximately 15 to 20 thirsty beer fanatics. There are also about 10 or so tables throughout the bar area for you to enjoy a couple of beverages with your friends and family. During the warmer times of the year, there are a few picnic tables available outside for your drinking and dining pleasure.
The brewery is home to quite a few events throughout the year, some of the events that they host include Dart Tournaments, Karaoke Nights, Trivia Nights on Wednesdays, Charity Euchre Nights and much more. I was not able to determine if the space is available to rent for private events, so if that is something that you are interested in, please reach out to Eternity to inquire about possibly renting their space.
If you have an appetite in addition to a giant thirst when you arrive at the brewery, good news. Eternity does offer a kitchen with a full menu. The menu is seasonal and does change quite regularly. As of typing this review some of the options on the menu include options such as Appetizers, Soups and Salads, Flatbreads, Burgers, and various other Sandwiches. On occasion they will even offer a daily special on the food menu, recently one of the daily specials was Coney Dogs with Kettle Chips. Keep an eye on their socials to see if they are offering a daily special or a new seasonal menu before you visit.
You came to visit the brewery and you brought a friend along that doesn’t like beer? Well luckily Eternity Brewing Company has you covered. They offer 2 to 4 rotating Wine options that come from Howell’s Mainstreet Winery. Eternity partnered with Ore Creek Cidery out of Pinckney to provide a few Hard Cider options. If you brought the kids or an acquaintance that doesn’t drink alcohol they have various options of Towne Club Soda, Coffee, and more rotating options. Eternity Brewing Company has a beverage for everyone’s palate.
I would be willing to bet that you came to my beer page to read about the beer at Eternity Brewing Company, so here we go. On our most recent visit to Eternity, we ordered a flight of beers, and those were so good that we ordered a second flight. Our flights consisted of Busty Porter, Chonky Butterfly- Sour, Oktoberfest, Ex’s and Oats- Stout, Gose, Munich Dunkel, Michigan Hopped V52- Pale Ale, and When Life Gives You Blueberries- Sour. All of these beers were very tasty, and picking one that stood out above the others was difficult.
Even though it was a challenging task to pick one, my personal favorite out of everything that we tried on our visit was their Night Glow, which is a Dark Lager. Obviously this beer was dark, although for being a dark beer it drank very light. It has a slight roastiness to it, and finishes very smooth. This particular beer checks in at 5.5% ABV, so it is great for having a couple during these long winter nights that we are prone to here in Michigan. As a matter of fact, I highly approve of enjoying a couple of these next time you get the chance.
When you are looking to spend a very long time, possibly an eternity, drinking a couple of high quality beers, take a trip out to Howell and visit Eternity Brewing Company. Estrvoia!
