Another brewery that I hit this past June is Third Life Brewing Company up in Manistee, Michigan. They are on River Street just outside of Downtown Manistee. Third Life Brewing Company opened in November of 2022 and have been putting out quality products from day one.

They are inside of the old Manistee Iron Works building which opened in 1871 and is on the National Register of Historic Places for Manistee. It has been damaged multiple times from fires throughout its history but continues to stand the test of time to this day.

Third Life Brewing Company is a quaint little nano brewery. They have a few seats at their bar area, and maybe a total of 10 to 15 tables throughout the place for you to enjoy your beers at. Since they are a smaller place they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Check their website or google for their hours the rest of the week as they vary on different days of the week.

They do not have a kitchen, but they do have food trucks that come by on occasion. Check their socials to see if they might have a food truck when you are stopping by. They did not have a food truck on the day that I visited. If they don’t have a food truck, I am not sure if you can bring in outside food or not, so contact them and ask before you casually decide to take food in.

I bellied up to the bar area as usual and ordered my flight of beer. The owner/brewer was a man named Jameson, and he was busy chatting me up about their beer. We also talked about Plymouth for quite a while because he was either from Plymouth or had family in Plymouth, I honestly can’t remember what his connection was to Plymouth. I talked to plenty of people on this trip that had connections to the Plymouth area and I can’t keep straight who said what on this trip lol.

Anyways, my flight consisted of SS City of Milwaukee- Hefeweizen, Far Out Duke- Hazy IPA, Daisy Got the Zoomies- Coffee Porter. My favorite out of all the options though was the Noble Knights Nectar- Extra Special Bitter (ESB). It was a nice, easy, smooth drinking beer with a little bit of bitterness from the hops and malts used in it. Since it checks in at 5.0% ABV, you could drink quite a few of these and make a nice little drinking session out of it.

On your next trip up to Manistee take a little detour over to Third Life Brewing Company and check out what they have to offer on tap. I promise you won’t leave disappointed. Estrovia!
