Welcome to August’s New Illinois Beer Labels!

Last month we acknowledged that Illinois is a new state for us to cover, so we’re excited to continue checking out what may grace the shelves.

All of the beer labels featured here are available for the public to view on the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) website. You can spend your time figuring it out or you can check out our monthly highlights. We do not have special access nor did we hack into each brewery’s “top secret” files. Check out past beer label posts here.

It should be noted that TTB approved labels are not guaranteed to be on shelves in the immediate future or even at all. Breweries need to have labels ready if they decide a beer is a go for packaging and distribution. There may be a multitude of reasons to release a product or not. The purpose of this post is to start a conversation about what is potentially on the horizon in the Illinois beer scene.

This month’s highlights include labels from Black Horizon Brewing Company, Brewer’s Kitchen, Church Street Brewing Company, Corridor Brewing Company, Crushed by Giants Brewing Company,  DryHop Brewers, Fox Republic Brewing Company, Goose Island Beer Co, Hop Butcher for the World, Hopewell Brewing Co, Mikerphone Brewing, More Brewing Company, Obscurity Brewing, Old Herald Brewery and Distillery, Pipeworks Brewing, Revolution Brewing, and Triptych Brewing.

August’s featured label is Midwest Coast Brewing Co’s collaboration beer with Varvar Brew from Ukraine called Peremoha. This beer won the 2022 Gold Medal at the U.S. Open Beer Championship in the Ukrainian-Style Golden Ale category. See the label for more information!

Which label is your favorite?

Cheers!

Ed Norton

Edwin "Ed" Norton was first introduced to craft beer when his designated fraternity Big Brother Vince asked him if he knew anything about the topic. Ed admitted his ignorance and the rest is history as Ed and Vince would split six-packs of craft beers each week during Ed's probationary status. Ed is now a craft beer enthusiast who is always on the lookout for a beer he has not tried when bottle shopping or drinking at breweries and bars. In addition to drinking beer, this livelong Michigan resident enjoys a bunch of hobbies that he doubts you really care about, other than drinking beer and sounding off about it.
