For the sake of full disclosure, I may not have been able to taste this beer to its complete potential because I burnt the tip of my tongue on a giant meatball the day before. Long story, don’t ask.

I absolutely love the color of this beer. It has such a wonderful golden brown and it just looks like summer! The lacing makes lovely patterns, just inviting you to take a big drink. If only it tasted as pleasant as it looked…

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike this beer. It just didn’t do much for me. I like the different aspects but when you put them together I felt it was lacking…. something. This hop is very, let’s say “botanical” which gives the beer a very rosy finish. It also has quite a zip of spiciness which gives it some interesting character but it wasn’t something that had me clamoring for another can. I just wish the ride was a bit more smooth. It’s like riding on a rollercoaster that stops to make you solve a calculus halfway through. There are some excellent parts but it can be something of a chore to get there.

It’s just the nature of the hops. You really have to like a floral hop to enjoy this beer and while that is something I enjoy, I just felt like the balance wasn’t really there. I like where this beer is going, it just didn’t get me far enough. If flowery, spicy beers are your jam, I would say give this one a go.
