Just outside of Grand Rapids in Wyoming, Michigan is a nice little place called 3 Gatos Brewery. The brewery was founded in 2021, and has been serving up quality beers to the Wyoming community from day one.
The business was started by a husband and wife who are originally from Brazil and started homebrewing in 2011. They ended up meeting the owner of Kitzingen Brewery (I never made it here), which is where 3 Gatos is currently located. In 2020 they ended up deciding to buy the brewery from him, and as they say the rest is history.
3 Gatos Brewery is a decent sized place with multiple tables throughout the bar area for you to sit at with friends and enjoy a good beer and some good food. There are also outdoor seating options available. At the bar there are another 10 to 15 seats available for those of us that consider ourselves bar flies. Like the name 3 Gatos suggests, this is a brewery that is cat friendly, which is great for all the cat owners out there, not so great for a guy like me who is allergic to cats.
At 3 Gatos Brewery they do have a kitchen, but it is a relatively small and simple menu. They have quite a few options for appetizers and snacks, most have a Brazilian influence on them. In addition to the appetizers they also feature a build your own smash burger option, which have topping options that rotate weekly. I did not eat on my visit, but that didn’t stop the place from smelling absolutely delicious.
On my flight I ended up getting The Pink Panther- Amber Lager, Panthera Pardus- Imperial Stout, Selkirk Rex- Mailbock, Bengal- Oatmeal Stout. The best beer on the flight goes to the Maine Coon which is a Hazy IPA. It is hopped with Citra, Mosaic and Rakau hops. It was smooth with very low bitterness to it, but with very prominent tropical fruit flavor and citrus aromas from the hop additions. This was one of the better Hazy IPAs I have tried in quite a while.
The staff here was all very accommodating and very friendly on my trip. They were all willing to answer any questions that I had, and they were also willing to let me try anything else I wanted that I didn’t get on my flight. You guys are awesome, keep up the good work.
If Charlie from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia sells you some Kitten Mittons, your furry feline can show them off at 3 Gatos Brewing in Wyoming. So drop on in, grab a beer or two and let your kitten strut their stuff, Meeee-ooooowwwww. Cheers!
