Today we will take a look at another brewery that has been around for quite some time. Today’s review will take us back into Ann Arbor and Grizzly Peak Brewing Company. They opened the brewery in 1995 and have been producing beer for the people of Ann Arbor ever since.

Grizzly Peak is located in Downtown Ann Arbor just off of Washington Street In a building that is over a century old. They even have a cozy little fireplace in the brewery that definitely shows the age of the building.

Upon your entry to Grizzly Peak Brewing Company you will notice that they have a nice long wooden bar area that seats about 10 to 15 beer lovers. Another option for seating includes various tables scattered around the building for your drinking and dining experience. I have never been in this part of the brewery, but there is a cellar area that has additional seating for all of your consumption needs. Grizzly Peak does offer an outdoor seating area that is dog friendly just in case you want to catch a glimpse of the hustle and bustle of Downtown Ann Arbor while you enjoy your beverage of choice.

Grizzly Peak does offer a Happy Hour from 3-6 Monday through Friday. During Happy Hour some of the specials that can be taken advantage of include pints of beer for 4 dollars, 8 dollar appetizers and 10 pizzas. In addition to their Happy Hour specials, other food options that they produce out of the kitchen include Sandwiches, Burgers, Burritos, Soups, Mains, and desserts. There is also a kids menu just in case you bring the little ones on your trip to the brewery.

When it comes to the space available at Grizzly Peak, they do offer private rentals for up to 90 people for a cocktail and appetizer group. The capacity for private events decreases to 50 for a buffet style dinner in their cellar area. Their private event space is available for rentals from Thursday through Saturday.

Is there someone in your group that doesn’t enjoy a nice cold beer? Luckily here at Grizzly Peak, they have got you covered. The brewery offers a full liquor bar that includes rotating housemade Cocktails, and various Wine selections. For those that don’t drink at all they have non alcoholic options including soda and lemonade.

Up next in the review we get to chat about the beer. Some of the offerings that I have enjoyed over the multiple visits that I have accrued at Grizzly Peak include Roasted Citrus IPA, El Hefe- Hefeweizen, Urban War Bear- IPA, Steelhead Red- Amber, Sheerwater Burton IPA, Summer Pale Ale, Poolside Lager, and Princes of Maine- Hazy IPA.

The best option that I have ever indulged myself in from Grizzly Peak is their Victors Gold which is a Pale Lager. This is a gluten reduced option on the menu. It is very light-bodied, and clean with a subtle spice note from the hop profile that is used in the creation of this beer. All of this combined creates a very smooth, refreshing finish that will leave you clamoring for more. The bonus is that this beer clocks in at 4.6% ABV, so go ahead and treat yourself to a few. But as always do so responsibly.

If you find yourself having an appetite for beer as big as a Grizzly Bear preparing itself for the Winter hibernation period, make your next stop Grizzly Peak Brewing Company in Ann Arbor. Estrovia!
