I will start today’s review with a joke. Have you ever heard the one about the three blondes that decided to open a brewery?
They opened Three Blondes Brewing very successfully and have been producing high quality beer for the people of South Haven, Michigan since 2018. One thing you will notice is that they play on the Three Blondes theme a lot, so I hope that they appreciate the attempt at humor to start the review. Three Blondes Brewing is located about 1 mile east of I-196 on the East Side of South Haven.
When you walk into the brewery you will notice that they have a decent sized bar area that seats approximately 10 to 12 people. There are a bunch of tables around the building for your fun filled evening out with friends. If you feel like sitting outside there is a spacious outdoor seating area to soak up some of that South Haven sun while you enjoy a couple of adult beverages in a relaxing environment.
The brewery is home to quite a few events such as Trivia on Tuesdays, and one that I need to go for in the future, Fried Chicken Sundays. I love me some Fried Chicken, Beer, and Sundays, how can one possibly go wrong with that combination? Sorry, I digress, but check the Three Blondes website to see if they are hosting an event during your next visit to the brewery.
You can book tables online through their website for visits to the brewery, but I was not able to determine if the brewery has space available for private event rentals. Contact the brewery if you might be interested in private event rentals.
There is a kitchen at Three Blondes Brewing for your culinary needs. In addition to the aforementioned Fried Chicken Sundays, they do offer a menu that includes Shareables, Handhelds, Salads, Tacos, Entrees, Pizza, and Desserts. A little something to enjoy for almost any palate. They even have a Kids Menu just in case you and the little ones hung out at the beach all day and now Mom and Dad need some relaxation time.
When it comes to the traveler that doesn’t drink beer, there are Wine and Cider options on tap at all times. Now for the children or the non-drinker, there are various soda options available at the brewery.
Here at Three Blondes Brewing they have over 15 beers on tap at all times. Some of the beers that they have on tap most times include their Wake & Lake- Pilsner, DNA Test- Hazy IPA, Trees and Seas- Pale Ale, and Boom Boom Betty- Blonde Ale. Some of their more seasonal offerings include their Dill With It- Berliner Weisse, Strawberracuda- Sour Ale, Soulless- Red Ale, and various other rotating beers throughout the year. They will have a beer style on tap to please almost any beer lover’s palate.
The best beer that I had on my visit had to be the Palisades Porter, which was an American Porter that had a nutty, coffee flavor with hints of chocolate and caramel. This beer was dark, thick, bold and malty but it finished ever so smooth. Clocking in at 6.4% ABV, this is one you will want to keep on eye on if you decide to have a few. Don’t be afraid to have a few, but do so responsibly.
As you travel down the coast of Lake Michigan and approach South Haven, don’t have a blonde moment and drive through town without stopping at Three Blondes Brewing Company. Cheers!
