After yesterday’s detour, we are back to getting ready to leave Sand Lake Micro Brewery. My destination for the evening was Gladwin, Michigan to spend the night at Leona’s house so that I could rest up for my beer trip. As I sat at the bar though, I realized that Three Bridges Distillery and Taproom in Midland, Michigan was open late, so I decided one more brewery for the evening wouldn’t hurt. So I made my way towards Midland and the last brewery of the night.

Three Bridges opened in Downtown Midland in 2022 and have been hard at work producing sought after spirits and delicious beer ever since. They are located in Midland’s social district, so parking is a bit tricky. I had to park about 2 blocks away and walk to the brewery. I am not sure if this was the best way to do it, but it worked. If you find a better way, more power to you.

Once you are inside the brewery they have a long bar that can seat quite a few people at it, and various tables placed throughout the brewery for all of your relaxing needs. Since they are in a social district they also have quite a bit of outdoor seating. Heck if you don’t want to hang out, you just want a beer, you can grab one and walk around the social district if you so desire.

Three Bridges does have a limited kitchen in the brewery, they offer a few small snacks, and quite a few different styles of pizza. Basically if you are not in the mood for pizza and you are looking for a meal, you may want to stop somewhere else along the way for your culinary needs.

As mentioned earlier, they are a distillery so therefore they do offer all sorts of housemade cocktails and tasting of the various liquors that they produce. Other options that they have available are seltzers, wine, mocktails, and a few non-alcoholic options are on the menu.

It was approximately 11 p.m. when I arrived and they were still very busy, to be fair it was a Friday night so maybe it shouldn’t be that surprising. But I sat at the bar and ordered my usual flight. This flight consisted of Gimmie Some Lager- Amber Ale, Kitchen Sink- American IPA, and Rye Whiskey BBA Anniversary Stout. The beer I enjoyed the most on this flight was the Mr. And Mrs. Smith- New England IPA. This was a mango flavored, citrusy Hazy IPA that was heavily hopped and contained plenty of tropical flavors that finished relatively dry for a Hazy IPA.

Now we move on to the gross part of this visit. As I was sitting at the bar a woman came over and started talking to me. After a couple of seconds, I realized that I was being hit on by this woman. She then asked me what is that behind your ear? I had a dental pick tucked behind my ear that I had forgotten about. She proceeded to grab it and floss her teeth with my used dental pick. I know it’s really gross, but it gets worse.

After using my dental pick, she then tried to tuck it back behind my ear, which I respectfully told her, that dental pick is all yours now. Then she asked me what I was up to the rest of the night and if I was seeing anyone. I could not imagine using a strangers’ used dental pick and expecting that to win me brownie points with them. I was not attracted to that at all, as a matter of fact as somewhat of a germaphobe, that made me want to throw up and it still makes me want to throw up as I type this.

So if you are in Midland and someone tries to use your used dental pick, swing on into Three Bridges Distillery and Taproom. They will have something tasty on tap to help you cope with the traumatizing event that just happened. If you can’t just cope with it, they will have something strong enough to make you forget that someone completely grossed you out. But whatever you do to forget traumatizing events, do so responsibly. Gesondheid!
