Here in Michigan we are more than ready for the summer! Drinking crushable beers goes hand-in-hand with the longer days, warm temps, and vacations to northern Michigan.
Crushable beers are easy drinking beers no matter what activities you are up to this summer.
The following freakin’ flight has a little something for everyone. Each of the Michigan beers are between 4-5% and a small amount of IBUs.
Bean Flicker Blonde – 4.5%
Odd Side Ales – Grand Haven
Coffee and beer?!
When I first ordered a Bean Flicker, I was shocked when they brought out a lager-looking beer, but I was proven very, very wrong. This blonde ale is deliciously light and sweet with tons of coffee throughout each sip. Don’t let the look of this one fool you! Drink it as a little pick me up heading into those fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July or whatever reason you’re lighting them off!
P.S. According to Odd Side’s Instagram, variants of Bean Flicker will be available soon.

Soft Parade Shandy – 4.2%
Short’s Brewing Company – Bellaire
When Short’s came out with Soft Parade Shandy, I was pumped. Soft Parade, in it’s original form, is crushable in it’s own way, but it packs a potent punch at 7.5% ABV. The shandy cousin still has the refreshing berry tastes, but with the ever-so-popular shandy spin. Per the picture on the label, this beer is best crushed in a beach chair on a nice summer afternoon.

The Fluffler: Session IPA – 4.5%
Kuhnhenn Brewing Co. – Warren
Session IPAs are the best way for hop heads to get their fix, but also be able to crush a few throughout the day. Kuhnhenn Brewing Co’s The Fluffer is exactly what you need if you’re looking for the bright citrus taste and dry finish of their popular DRIPA with just about half of the ABV.

Blackberry IPA – 5%
Perrin Brewing Co. – Comstock Park
Perrin’s Blackberry IPA pairs blackberries and hops together for a one-two punch to your taste buds. It’s crushable and easy drinking and a solid fruit beer-IPA mix. Throw this one in your cooler to provide your friends something new when out camping or tailgating before a baseball game.

Nectar of the Goddess – 4.8%
Latitude 42 Brewing Company – Portage
There’s a pale wheat ale that’s all the rage in Michigan during the summer months, and it’s time for it to move over. Diversify your palate and give Latitude 42’s brew a shot. Paying homage to another otherwordly being is still in the cards with the Nectar of the Goddess. Instead of a decades old yeast, Latitude 42 threw in blood orange, honey, and passion fruit. Need I say more?
