We at Better on Draft Media are gearing up for the 2022 Burning Foot Beer Festival taking place in Muskegon, MI on Saturday, August 27. The special festival combines beer, music, art, and natural beauty into one for a jam packed day on the shores of Lake Michigan. For our team, Ken will be attending for the first time and Ed will be going to his third festival.

Ken, Tito, and Wendy sat down with Burning Foot’s Allen Serio last week on the 30th episode of the Michigan Series of Better on Draft to discuss specifics about the 7th Annual festival. Give the episode a listen before the festival to get all the details. If you’re looking for more to listen to, check out 2021’s interview, too!

The 2021 festival boasted 70+ breweries. Out of the 20 Michigan breweries we encouraged people to check out on our list from last year, 17 of those breweries are back for 2022. Based on this return rate and Allen’s energy and passion in the podcast episode, we think that Burning Foot is a festival with a bright future.

The breweries in attendance this year are close to 100! We’ve gone through the breweries making the trip to Muskegon and have created a list of 20 Michigan breweries we think you need to check out at Burning Foot 2022. The list is in alphabetical order because it was difficult to rank order this list of excellent breweries.

Aberrant Ales (Howell)

Arctic Circle Brewing Co (Chesterfield)

barrel + beam (Marquette)

Brick Haus Brews (Sparta)

Cedar Springs Brewing Company (Cedar Springs)

City Built Brewing Company (Grand Rapids)

Drafting Table Brewing Company (Wixom)

Eastern Market Brewing Company (Detroit)

Grand Armory Brewing (Grand Haven)

Gravel Bottom Craft Brewery (Ada)

Griffin Claw Brewing Company (Birmingham)

Like we said last year, Burning Foot is an excellent celebration for the end of the summer! We are looking forward to the celebration, music, beautiful landscape of Lake Michigan, and, of course, the beer!

Cheers!

Ed Norton

Edwin "Ed" Norton was first introduced to craft beer when his designated fraternity Big Brother Vince asked him if he knew anything about the topic. Ed admitted his ignorance and the rest is history as Ed and Vince would split six-packs of craft beers each week during Ed's probationary status. Ed is now a craft beer enthusiast who is always on the lookout for a beer he has not tried when bottle shopping or drinking at breweries and bars. In addition to drinking beer, this livelong Michigan resident enjoys a bunch of hobbies that he doubts you really care about, other than drinking beer and sounding off about it.
