I am sad to announce that the Creston Brewery in Grand Rapids just announced that effective immediately that they will be closing their location permanently. They originally opened in 2016 and were purchased by Saugatuck Brewing Company in 2021. It has been a few years since I was last there but it is yet another Michigan brewery that will be closing their doors. Wolverine State Brewing Company yesterday, Creston today, I really hope there isn’t another one tomorrow.
Edit: Saugatuck Brewing Company has also closed their Kalamazoo location along with the Creston Brewery location in Grand Rapids.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of Creston Brewery as of today, Monday, March 3rd, 2025.
This decision was not made lightly—it comes with great difficulty and heartbreak.
The craft beer industry has faced some incredibly challenging times, and while we’ve poured our hearts into this space, we’ve had to make difficult decisions to adapt to an ever-changing landscape. This is not the outcome we ever imagined, but it’s one we’ve come to with great care and consideration.
This community has meant the world to us. The friendships formed, the memories made, and the unwavering support from our patrons have been extraordinary. We are profoundly grateful for every conversation shared, every toast raised, and every moment spent together over delicious food, beer, and laughter.
More than anything, we want to recognize our incredible employees—the people who poured their passion, energy, and dedication into making this space feel like home. They have been the heart of our brewery, creating warmth, connection, and lasting memories, and we cannot thank them enough for their hard work, loyalty, and love for this brewery and community.
A community is built by the people who support it, and while we may no longer be here in the same way, the connections we’ve made will always remain.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
